Facelift anesthesia and safety in Seoul, Korea
A deep plane facelift is performed under general anesthesia. At Grand, a resident anesthesiologist chooses the anesthetic method and monitors oxygen, pulse and blood pressure throughout surgery. Operating rooms are CCTV-monitored, and the surgeon you consult is the surgeon who operates.
Grand's safety system
- Anesthesiologists are resident 365 days a year and monitor every general-anesthesia surgery (oxygen saturation, pulse and blood pressure).
- Operating rooms are recorded by CCTV and watched from a separate monitoring room, and the surgeon you consult is the surgeon who operates (operation real-name system).
- Pre-operative health check with a 50-point checklist, including 3D-CT imaging where needed.
- Emergency equipment on standby: AED, emergency cart, dantrolene for malignant hyperthermia, and an uninterruptible power supply.

Is general anesthesia necessary for a facelift?
For a full deep plane facelift, yes. Smaller procedures such as thread lifts or endoscopic forehead lifts use IV sedation.
