Facelift guide
Facelift vs thread lift in Seoul, Korea
A thread lift uses dissolvable PDO threads to hold tissue up for months with almost no downtime. A deep plane facelift repositions the SMAS and ligaments and removes excess skin, for a result that lasts years. Threads suit mild sagging and short trips; surgery suits moderate to severe sagging.
Comparison
| Thread lift | Deep plane facelift | |
|---|---|---|
| Incisions | None | Hidden in hairline and around ears |
| Time | 30 min – 1 hour | About 4 hours |
| Anesthesia | IV sedation | General |
| Stitches | None | Removed at 1–2 weeks |
| Longevity | Threads absorbed ~240 days | Long-lasting |
| Removes excess skin | No | Yes |
When threads are not enough
If you already have heavy jowls or loose neck skin, threads can only give a small, temporary change. Repeated thread lifts can also make later surgery more complex, so ask for an honest assessment.
