Flying home after a facelift in Seoul, Korea

Most facelift patients fly home after stitch removal, 1–2 weeks after surgery, once the surgeon has checked healing. For long-haul flights, keep your head raised, stay hydrated, walk the aisle and wear compression socks if advised.

Tips for the flight

  • Book an aisle seat so you can walk
  • Drink water; avoid alcohol
  • Bring a travel pillow to keep your head upright
  • Keep medication and your medical summary in your hand luggage
  • Wear a hat or scarf if you prefer privacy

After landing

Swelling may rise slightly after a long flight and should settle within a day or two. Follow aftercare rules until week 6.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fly 5 days after a facelift?

Only if your surgeon agrees. Leaving before stitch removal is generally not recommended.

Is a long-haul flight risky?

Long flights raise the risk of blood clots. Your medical team will advise on walking, hydration and compression.
